How to Play Your Ancient Flute
How to Play (Easy Method)
This is the simplest way to get started and produces a beautiful, breathy tone.
- Hold the flute with the small "V" notch at the top.
- Place your bottom lip gently against the flute, just below the notch.
- Purse your lips slightly, as if saying "too" or "poo".
- Blow a steady, gentle stream of air *across* the "V" notch, not directly into it.
- Adjust the angle of the flute and your breath until you hear a clear sound.
